MS Writing was founded by Marilyn Scandaglia, a biotechnologist and neuroscientist with more than ten years of experience in biomedical research.

Marilyn studied biotechnology at the University of Bologna (Italy) before specializing in neuroscience during her PhD and postdoc at the Instituto de Neurociencias de Alicante (Spain), and a research stint at Harvard (US).

She didn’t move into medical writing because she lost her passion for research, but because family life required greater flexibility. Her scientific training — spanning molecular biology, neuroscience, and cancer research — still underpins everything she does.

From translating books for healthcare professionals and general audiences to preparing research manuscripts and writing regulatory summaries, Marilyn combines scientific accuracy with clear, accessible language.

On a more personal note, Marilyn is Italian, now rooted in Spain, with regular escapes back home whenever life allows. When not at her laptop, she's busy raising three children, growing vegetables, and managing a cheerful household that includes a cat and a rabbit — two unexpectedly inseparable ladies — and a bubbly parrot.
